She crouched down, pushed some leaves up in front of her legs, and pulled her hair into her face. It sounded like a bear looking for grubs, but it didn't smell right. The thing slowly came into view. It looked similar to her father. It didn't smell like him though. He was paying so much attention to the leaves he was kicking, that he didn't seem to notice her. Not until he was close she did have pull his leg out from under him. He stopped, cocked his head to the side, and tried hard to figure out what he was looking at. She didn't know what he would do next, so she growled to warn him. He backed up a little.
Mouse Day is my first and so far, only children's book, made for 0-5 year olds. It is the story of two curious kitties, and their uncle, a kind St. Bernard. My kids loved to follow as they learn about patience while trying to find a little playmate.
